Title | Event: "Tracking Kites" Documentary and Commentary | Location | Location: Green Cay Nature Center | Start Time | Start Date/Time: Friday, March 6, 2026 1:00:00 PM |
Description | A special viewing of Tracking Kites, a short film that explores what can happen when people, science and communities come together to better understand the world around them by learning more about one of the most social raptors on planet Earth, the graceful swallow-tailed kite. Follow along with scientists, land managers, and environmental educators as they track these birds along their epic 10,000-mile annual migration, where their population recovery in the face of increasing development shows us what is possible if we collectively understand more about the land and make better decisions going forward. This story highlights the hope of what is possible for Wild Florida and the planet…but shows us that hope rests squarely on our collective shoulders. The event will include an introduction, behind-the-scenes commentary, and insights into the film.
