Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program.

Activities promote environmental and historical awareness, conservation and recreation.

NOTICE: Effective October 1, 2025, all payments made with a credit or debit card (online or in-person) will incur a 3.0% service fee. This fee is assessed and collected by the credit card processor, not by Palm Beach County. No service fee will be assessed on payments made by check or cash. Service fees are non-refundable.

NATURALIST WALKS
Thursdays, 1:00 p.m. 
All ages, FREE (Reservations required)
Join naturalists each week for a 1-hour guided walk exploring the trails of Riverbend Park. It’s a great way to become familiar with the plant and animal communities and trails of the park. Call 561-741-1359 to reserve a spot.

REPTILE ENCOUNTERS
Wednesdays, 2:30 p.m. 
All ages, FREE (Reservations required)
Join naturalists each week for a short meet & greet with one of our resident reptile ambassadors.

BATTLEFIELD TOURS

Join a Loxahatchee Battlefield Preservationist docent on a battlefield tour and learn of the Second Seminole War battles that occurred here.​

Join USA Archery certified staff to learn a new skill! This exciting program teaches archery safety and how to properly use the equipment before getting to practice on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.

FEATHERED FRIENDS: BIRDING BASICS

Come join us for a guided birding walk in the park as we learn about the amazing adaptations of birds and the many roles they play in the environment. Participants can borrow bird guidebooks and binoculars.

RIVERBEND PARK VISITS THE JUPITER BRANCH LIBRARY: NATURE’S HIDE AND SEEK: THE ART OF CAMOUFLAGE

Join Riverbend Park at the Jupiter Library to uncover the secrets of nature’s most skilled "masters of disguise"! WETLAND WATER DETECTIVES: WETLAND DIPNETTING

Dive into the hidden world of wetland critters! Celebrate Water Quality Month by exploring the wetlands and discovering the tiny creatures that call them home. Learn how aquatic insects, snails and other macroinvertebrates help scientists measure the health of our waterways. You never know what you'll find beneath the surface! Please wear closed-toe shoes that can get wet/muddy.

FISHING FUN
Saturday, August 22, 9:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Cast a line into the Loxahatchee River and try your luck catching local fish! Learn basic fishing techniques and safety while enjoying one of Florida’s most scenic waterways. Fishing gear is provided. Participants should bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses and wear appropriate outdoor clothing.

BATS AFTER DARK: NIGHT HIKE
Friday, August 28, 7:30 p.m.
Ages 8+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Celebrate International Bat Night with an evening guided hike at Riverbend Park! Join a naturalist as we explore the park at dusk and discover Florida’s bats, their unique behaviors and their important role as insect-eaters and pollinators. Watch for bats and other nocturnal wildlife as they emerge after sunset. Participants should wear closed-toe walking shoes and bring water, a flashlight and insect repellent.

Celebrate National Sea Otter Awareness Week by exploring the world of River Otters! Discover what makes these playful mammals unique, learn about the freshwater habitats they call home and uncover the important role they play in Florida’s ecosystems. Through hands-on activities and exploration, become an Official River Otter Habitat Builder and learn how you can help protect these amazing animals.
