​PZB's Planning Division was honored to receive a Proclamation declaring March as Florida Archaeology Month, sponsored by Commissioner Gregg Weiss.

PZB's Historic Preservation and Archaeology Section plays a vital role in identifying, protecting, and promoting cultural resources - including archaeological sites and historic structures - throughout unincorporated Palm Beach County. Through careful review, research, and coordination, they help ensure that the County's rich history is considered and preserved as the community continues to grow.

They also collaborate with local governments, community partners, and professional organizations on cultural resource management initiatives. In addition, the team supports public education through outreach events and an internship program designed to provide hands-on experience and foster interest in historic preservation and archaeology.
