In 2025, they proudly earned their Sanctuary Certification once again, demonstrating an unwavering dedication to creating a healing environment for clients, families, and employees.</p><p style="box-sizing&#58;border-box;color&#58;#151515;font-family&#58;&quot;zilla slab&quot;, sans-serif;font-size&#58;20px;letter-spacing&#58;normal;"><em>“The Sanctuary® Model of Trauma-Informed Care reminds us to lead with empathy and gives us tools to address issues found in a workplace – whether in a clinical setting or in a conference room.”</em><span style="box-sizing&#58;border-box;font-weight&#58;bolder;"><br style="box-sizing&#58;border-box;"></span>— Elisa Cramer, Director, Palm Beach County Youth Services Department</p><p style="box-sizing&#58;border-box;color&#58;#151515;font-family&#58;&quot;zilla slab&quot;, sans-serif;font-size&#58;20px;letter-spacing&#58;normal;"><span style="box-sizing&#58;border-box;font-weight&#58;bolder;">Living the Seven Commitments Daily</span></p><p style="box-sizing&#58;border-box;color&#58;#151515;font-family&#58;&quot;zilla slab&quot;, sans-serif;font-size&#58;20px;letter-spacing&#58;normal;">What sets Palm Beach County apart is how deeply the Sanctuary Model has been integrated into their organizational culture. During a residential program graduation, something remarkable was observed by the certification reviewers&#58; youth, families, and employees naturally acknowledged one another’s use of the Seven Commitments. It wasn’t rehearsed or forced—it was an organic demonstration of their daily practice and profound understanding of how these shared values create a holistic, healing environment that extends far beyond program completion.</p><p style="box-sizing&#58;border-box;color&#58;#151515;font-family&#58;&quot;zilla slab&quot;, sans-serif;font-size&#58;20px;letter-spacing&#58;normal;"><em>“At the Youth Services Department, the Sanctuary® Model of Trauma-Informed Care impacts everything we do – from therapeutic interventions to finance and contracting interactions to community engagement to personnel matters. Commissioners Meeting declaring May as Mental Health Awareness and Trauma Informed Care Month in
Palm Beach County&#160;</p><p><br></p><p>Boca Raton, FL – May 18, 2026 – When driving in downtown West Palm Beach or on Military Trail, South of Southern Boulevard
at
night, you may notice a green glow from the Historic Palm Beach County Courthouse and the County’s Four Points Building. The
green lights symbolize mental health awareness.</p><p><br></p><p>
On May 5, 2026, the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners proclaimed the month of May as Mental Health
Awareness and Trauma-Informed Care Month in Palm Beach County, featuring green as the national color in support of mental
health awareness. In May, events will take place throughout Palm Beach County as part of the “Get Your Green On” (GYGO)
Campaign. The Get Your Green On Campaign aims to raise awareness by creating visible support and fostering safe spaces to talk
openly about mental health and trauma.&#160;</p><p><br></p><p>Thursday, May 21, 2026, is Get Your Green On Day. Take a photo of yourself wearing green and post it to social
media with the tags #GYGO2026, #GetYourGreenOn or #GYGO365.&#160;</p><p><br></p><p>Mental Health is essential to everyone’s overall health and well-being, and
everyone experiences times of stress and struggles in their lives. One in four
adults and one in five youth ages 13 to 18 experience serious mental illness.
Unfortunately, most adults and youth do not receive necessary treatment due to
limited knowledge of the need, barriers to care, or simply fear and shame. It is
important to acknowledge that mental health is part of overall health and well
being, and no one should feel stigmatized for seeking help or treatment. The Get
Your Green On Campaign also highlights the myriad of resources at every Palm
Beach County resident’s fingertips to support their mental wellness.&#160;</p><p><br></p><p>For more information on mental health resources in the area, scan the QR code

access to resources and opportunities. All services provided by the Youth Services Department are FREE to Palm Beach County
residents and further the mission by empowering youth and families to realize their full potential and be the driving force of a
thriving community. The Youth Services Department is certified in The Sanctuary® Model of Trauma-Informed Care, which
promotes an environment emphasizing the seven commitments of nonviolence, emotional intelligence, social learning, open
