Biography - Todd J. Bonlarron
Interim County Administrator
On June 3, 2025, Todd J. Bonlarron was appointed as the Interim County Administrator by the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners. Upon his appointment, he oversees 7,100 employees and balances a $9 billion budget.
Todd began his career with Palm Beach County in 1999 as the Legislative Delegation Executive Director. He developed and coordinated with the county delegation on local bills, community appropriation requests and county legislative priorities before each Florida Legislative Session.
From 2001 to 2016, as the Director of Legislative Affairs, Todd advocated for the Board of County Commissioners’ federal and state legislative agendas, coordinated grant writing campaigns and served as an intergovernmental affairs officer, advocating on behalf of Palm Beach County in Tallahassee and Washington, D.C., in efforts to secure billions of dollars in federal and state funding over the course of his career.
In April 2016, he was promoted to Assistant County Administrator and has oversight to several departments, including Cooperative Extension Service, the Criminal Justice Commission, the Library System, Palm Tran, Public Safety and Water Utilities. He also remains close to his roots, overseeing Legislative Affairs and Intergovernmental Affairs. It is common for Todd to work with the Intergovernmental Affairs staff in Tallahassee during the legislative session. He also acts as the county’s liaison to the Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency and the Supervisor of Elections.
Todd holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Florida and a Master of Public Administration from Florida State University. He enjoys actively engaging in several civic and professional organizations, including the National Association of Counties where he currently serves as Chair of the Deferred Contribution and Retirement Advisory Committee, andthe Florida Association of Counties where he currently serves as their appointee to the Florida Trust Investment Advisory Board. He is a past President of the National Association of County Intergovernmental Relations Officials, past President of the Florida Association for Intergovernmental Relations, and past Chair of the Planning Board for the City of West Palm Beach. He is a founding member of the West Palm 100 and a member of the South Florida Fair Board of Directors. Todd was honored in 2008 by the Palm Beach County League of Cities as their County Person of the Year.
Todd grew up in South Florida, is married to Rachael and has two children, Elle (4) and Blair (2).
