Take a Joy Break

As you observe National Relaxation Day, here are a few ideas you can use year round.

Daily 10 minute breaks:

  • Take a quick, brisk walk around the building where you are
  • Give yourself a foot massage
  • Work on a crossword or mind-stretching puzzle
  • Use crayons or markers and draw a masterpiece

Weekly or over your lunch hour – 30 minute joy breaks

  • Take a longer, more leisurely walk
  • Pull out a map or planner and plan your dream vacation
  • Write a personal letter to a distant friend or family member
  • Completely empty your desk and refill it with joys and toys
