What is the Community Action Advisory Board?

The Community Action Block Grant Contract (CSBG) requires the establishment of a Community Action Advisory Board. What does the Community Action Advisory Board do?

Board members are required to fully participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of Community Action Block Grant Programs, such as energy assistance programs and vocational training programs, that are created to serve low-income communities in Palm Beach County. This is consistent with BCC Resolution No. R-2018-0372 adopted April 10, 2018, amending Resolution No. R2014-0588, per Section 3-A1.

The Community Action Advisory Board is comprised of 15 total members. Five members are elected public officials or their appointees. Five members are representatives of business, industry, health, education, or other major groups or interests. Five members are representatives of the low-income areas served.
