ART IN PUBLIC PLACES INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

IF YOU ARE creative, detail-oriented and interested in being involved with the visual arts, we encourage you to work with us on the County's multi-faceted public art projects! As a Palm Beach County Art in Public Places Intern, you will have many learning opportunities and participate in a professional working environment. You will also be introduced to all aspects of the public art process and gain real-world experience through:
- Involvement in all stages of the public art process - from scope development and artist selection to contracts and design development; through engineering and permits onto fabrication and installation
- Corresponding with artists and arts leaders across the country regarding diverse types of community public art projects
- Responding to broad and varied phone calls and email queries about the County's Public Art Program
- Developing Calls to Artists and organizing artist submittals for selection panel reviews
- Writing copy for public outreach presentations, web site and other promotional materials
- Assisting with installation of changing art exhibitions at the Palm Beach International Airport and other County facilities
- Maintaining an artist registry database

QUALIFICATIONS
College student, all majors welcome. Student should have interest in Arts Administration, Art History, Architecture, Cultural Tourism, Marketing or Design related fields. Experience with Microsoft Office 2007, Power Point, Excel, Adobe Photoshop
