These topics are explored through the use of live animals, artifacts, and activities. All programs include a classroom presentation followed by a boardwalk tour, and last approximately 90 minutes. Programs are tailored to meet the needs of your group. Fees are *$5 per participant. All programs are by reservation only. *Effective October 1, 2025, all payments made with a credit or debit card (online or in-person) will incur a 3.0% service fee.  This fee is assessed and collected by the credit card processor, NOT by Palm Beach County.  No service fee will be assessed on payments made by check or cash​

For your next group outing, come to Green Cay for one of these exciting programs! Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, recreation, and educate on health and wellness in the community​​.

  • South Florida Animals: This program will explore the lives of various animals we have here in South Florida and includes a wetland walk to search for some. Get an up close look at some of those animals, including alligators, turtles, snakes and birds

  • Wetlands: Discover the wonders of  wetlands up close! This program includes: the water cycle, functions of wetlands, wetland wildlife and their food chains and a wetland tour. 

  • Reptiles and Amphibians: Bring your group on a journey with us as we explore differences between reptiles and amphibians, what is “cold-blooded", wetland food chains. We will also search for reptiles and amphibians living in our wetlands, and find out why they are important to this habitat!   

  • Birds: Take a peek into the fascinating lives of birds! Whether you are an avid birder or just beginning, we have several bird options to choose from to meet your needs: Birding 101 - Introduction to birds, identification  techniques, bird watching and binoculars. Junior Orinthologist -  Recommended for kids ages 14 and younger, this program will introduce children to the study of birds. All birding programs include a guided boardwalk tour of our  wetlands to search for the many different birds that reside here.

  • Plants & Butterflies: Popular with gardening groups, we have several plant program options to choose from to meet your needs: Butterfly Gardening - An introduction to butterfly gardening including  common host plants and native butterflies. Includes a trip to our butterfly garden. Junior Lepidopterist -  Recommended for kids ages 14 and younger, this  program will introduce children to the study of  butterflies and moths. *Plants and their pollinators - Learn about plants from around the world and the crazy ways they attract their pollinators. *Adult only program

  • Exotic Animals: This program introduces  participants to the concept exotic wildlife and what they mean to Florida’s fragile ecosystems. It  includes an exotic animal encounter with some of Florida’s exotic wildlife such as Red-eared Slider, Ball Python, Cuban Tree Frog and Cane Toad.
