Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program.

Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, recreation, and educate on health and wellness in the community​.

In Person - Visit the nature center during operating hours.

ARCHERY FOR BEGINNERS

Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Join USA Archery certified instructors and learn the basics of archery, from safety to shooting, and develop a great new skill to focus your mind on a single target. All equipment is provided. Space is limited, so register today!

ONC VISITS THE LIBRARY: CREEPY CRITTERS
Tuesday, October 8, 3:00-4:00 p.m.
Families/all ages, FREE (Pre-registration required**)
Join Okeeheelee Nature Center staff for a spooky afternoon to learn about some misunderstood creatures of the night! Come out and meet an alligator, opossum, owl, and snake!  **Call the Acreage Library at 561-681-4100 or visit www.pbclibrary.org​ for more details.**

PALM BEACH PACK & PADDLE CLUB

Join Palm Beach Pack & Paddle Club for their monthly meeting and program, featuring guest speakers from local organizations presenting on nature-related subjects and other environmental topics of interest.

ADVANCED ARCHERY***

Enjoy this grounding activity to improve the mind-body connection, as you advance your archery skills. USA Archery certified instructors teach advanced techniques and practice aim and precision with fun games. All equipment is provided. Space is limited, so register today! 

FAMILY OWL PROWL
Tuesday, October 22, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Families/all ages, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Join our team of naturalists as the sun sets and observe the natural transition from diurnal to nocturnal critters. Participants will meet some of our nocturnal animal ambassadors and learn about other animals that prowl our forest after dark in ONC’s pine flatwood habitat, as we look and listen for wildlife, with a waning full moon to light our way!

NOVEMBER

FLORIDA TRAIL ASSOCIATION
Saturday, November 2, 3:00-4:30 P.M.
Families/all ages, FREE (No reservations required)
Join the Florida Trail Association’s Loxahatchee Chapter for their monthly meeting and program, featuring Bea Rogers, who will be presenting at 3:00 on blazing a new trail between Lake Okeechobee and Hobe Sound Beach, the Ocean to Lake Hiking Trail. Join at 3:00 to chat with members and enjoy light refreshments.

TAKE A HIKE AT ONC!

Celebrate “National Take a Hike Day” by exploring ONC’s trails with a naturalist and a special animal ambassador! National Take A Hike Day was created by the American Hiking Society, and we will celebrate this year by spending time connecting to the natural world and learning more about Florida’s native species that call the Pine Flatwoods their home.

SUPERSTARS OF THE NIGHT
Tuesday, November 19, 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Ages 8+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Naturalists will lead the group on a relaxing night hike to search for the superstars of the night– nocturnal animals! Participants will explore the night sky with telescopes. Rain or shine, get excited to learn with our special guests from the Astronomical Society of the Palm Beaches on a waning gibbous moon evening!
