Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program.

Activities promote environmental and historical awareness, conservation, and recreation.

In Person - Visit the Riverbend Park office during operating hours.

MONTHLY

NATURALIST WALKS
Fridays, 8:00 a.m. 
All ages, FREE (Reservations required)
Join naturalists each week for a 1-hour guided walk exploring the trails of Riverbend Park. It’s a great way to become familiar with the plant and animal communities and trails of the park. Call 561-741-1359 to reserve a spot.

REPTILE ENCOUNTERS
Wednesdays, 2:30 p.m. 
All ages, FREE (Reservations not required)
Join naturalists each week for a short meet & greet with one of our resident reptile ambassadors.

BATTLEFIELD TOURS
Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. (October ​ May)
All ages, FREE (Reservations not required)
Join a Loxahatchee Battlefield Preservationist docent on a battlefield tour and learn of the Second Seminole War battles that occurred here.​

NOVEMBER

ADULT NIGHT HIKE
Friday, November 22, 6:30 p.m.
Ages 18+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Join us for an exhilarating and serene night hike designed specifically for adults eager to explore South Florida’s unique ecosystems and nocturnal inhabitants. As the sun sets and darkness envelops the landscape, you'll embark on a guided journey that combines the thrill of exploration with the tranquility of the night, offering an unforgettable adventure under the stars. Good walking shoes, water, a flashlight, and bug spray are recommended.

FEATHERED FRIENDS: TERRIFIC TURKEYS
Saturday, November 23, 9:30 a.m.
Ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Join us this fall for an immersive bird program focused on the beloved wild turkeys of South Florida. This unique opportunity allows you to learn about and experience the habitat and behavior of these fascinating birds in their natural environment. Participants will have the chance to examine real turkey biofacts and then embark on a short walk in the park to search for wild turkeys.

ARCHERY 101
Saturday, November 30, 9:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Join USA Archery certified staff to learn a new skill! This exciting program teaches archery safety and how to properly use the equipment before getting to practice on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.

DECEMBER

FULL MOON BIKE RIDE
Friday, December 13, 6:30 p.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Explore the park with a guided nighttime bike ride! After hours get the chance to look at nature from the point of view of its nocturnal residents. Appropriate safety gear and water is required. Bring your own bike.

ARCHERY 101

HISTORY IN THE PARK

Join our non-profit group the Loxahatchee Battlefield Preservationists for a presentation by a guest speaker. Docents will conduct a walking tour of the battlefield following the presentation.

FAMILY NIGHT HIKE

SOUTH FLORIDA ANIMALS: DELIGHTFUL DEER

Join us this winter for a delightful program centered around the White-tailed deer of South Florida. This unique experience offers you the chance to explore the habitat and behavior of these captivating mammals in their natural environment. Participants will examine deer biofacts and then enjoy a short walk in the park to search for wild deer in the park.
