The Vial of Life

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue has developed and funded the Vial of Life Program.  This Program was established to offer citizens the opportunity to compile important health, medical, insurance, and emergency contact information.  Fire Rescue and Law Enforcement personnel can utilize this data in the event of an emergency when a patient or victim is unable to speak and answer important questions that can have a significant effect on medical treatment.

The Vial of Life packet is in the form of a two-sided piece of paper that should be completed for each family member.  The completed forms are to be attached to the refrigerator so it is accessible to emergency responders.  It is vital that this information be kept updated as physicians and medications change.

The Yellow Dot

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you were in a vehicle accident and you couldn't speak or lost consciousness? Have you thought to yourself… How would emergency responders know my medical history?

Don't worry, we got you! Palm Beach County Fire Rescue is proud to offer the Yellow Dot. The Yellow Dot is a free program designed to help emergency responders provide life-saving medical attention after a crash or other emergency on the roadway.

The Yellow Dot consists of a pamphlet and a sticker. Follow these three [3] steps:

  1. Fill out the form on the Yellow Dot pamphlet. Each person gets their own.
  2. Place the pamphlet in your vehicle's glove compartment.
  3. Place the Yellow Dot sticker on the lower left-hand corner of the back windshield (driver's side). Emergency responders see the sticker and know to look in your glove compartment for the “Yellow Dot" pamphlet.

*Important Tips*

*          Keep the Yellow Dot pamphlet updated as your information changes.

**       How many do you need??? One [1] sticker per vehicle and [1] one pamphlet for each person.

We can mail a set to you. We also schedule group presentations. Call us at 561-616-7033 or send us a speaker request online.

Pet Decals

Placed on the outside of a home’s front door. If residents are not home at the time of an emergency, the decal conveys to emergency responders the number of cats and dogs (or other animals) inside the home.
