Heritage Farms Rural Overlay

On August 25, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners initiated a text amendment to the Comprehensive Plan to establish an Overlay for the Heritage Farms area. The draft Overlay language will be prepared by Planning staff, and coordinated with neighborhood residents. The scope and goals of the overlay will be discussed with property owners through the coordination process. Once the draft of the Overlay is prepared and reviewed with property owners, staff will coordinate with other County departments for review and ultimately present the language and staff report to the Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners at public hearings. 

If the Heritage Farms Rural Overlay is adopted by the Board of County Commissioners, the Overlay will consist of language in the Future Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan and the boundaries will be depicted on the Special Planning Area Map in the Comprehensive Plan Map Series.
