Open Houses on new FEMA Flood Maps will be held during September. FEMA, municipal, county and insurance industry representatives will be in attendance.

What you need to know. 

FEMA has released new flood zone maps, adding thousands more residents into high-risk flood zones.  

The new maps are effective 12/20/24 requiring property owner's immediate attention!

Three open houses are being held in September at locations countywide to provide residents an opportunity to learn more about their flood zones and risks!  Representatives from the county, municipalities, FEMA and the insurance industry will be available answer questions and provide information.   ā€‹

Also, at the above link, is a quick and easy tool to determine your flood zone by entering your address.  The results will provide users with their pending flood e(s)! (See key below.)

Flood Zone Key:  

  • Special Flood Hazard Areas: A, AE, AH, AO
  • Coastal High Hazard Area: VE
  • Low Risk Areas: X500
  • Minimal/Undetermined Risk Areas: X,Dā€‹


If no pending flood zone results, current flood zone remains the same.
