Palm Beach County Department of Housing and Economic Development hereby announces the availability of approximately $2,500,000 in the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Emergency Repairs Program. Funding will provide up to $50,000 to assist income eligible owner occupied residences to address emergency conditions such as roofing, electrical, plumbing, hurricane hardening (impact windows, doors, etc.) and structural repairs. NOTE: If your property is in need of substantial rehabilitation, this program will not be able to assist.

APPLICANT SELECTION CRITERIA: Fifty (50) applications will be available online by visiting the website at pbcgov.org/HED beginning Monday, June 17, 2024 at 8:00am. Applications will be accepted on a first submitted, first qualified, first served basis, subject to funding availability. (NOTE: Acceptance of an application and/or income certification of an applicant does not guarantee funding. Assistance is subject to funding availability and property eligibility).
PRE-APPLICATION VIRTUAL ORIENTATION: Before submitting an application, applicants may attend one of the virtual pre-application orientations listed below:

- Mortgage payments, insurance and taxes must be current/paid to date. NOTE: This program may pay one (1) year insurance premium in the event that the eligible homeowner does not have homeowners insurance
- Applicant may not currently own or have liquid assets exceeding $200,000 in liquid assets (excluding their primary residence, but including any other commercial or residential property owned)
- Funds will be awarded as a 0% interest deferred payment loan secured by a recorded mortgage and promissory note for 15 years. The loan is forgiven at the end of the 15-year term
