Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control gives reasonable first-aid and medical care to injured animals impounded after hours when possible. We are not a 24/7 emergency vet hospital, so we cannot provide the same level of treatment as during daytime hours with full staff.
Pet owners should follow best practices to microchip their pets and keep their contact information current in the microchip registry or the ACC database. This helps us reach you quickly.
Our veterinarians act in good faith to help animals in emergencies. If an impounded animal is suffering severely from extreme injury, illness, or very poor condition- and we cannot contact an owner within a reasonable time- we may humanely euthanize (put to sleep) the animal to end its suffering.
