In addition, PBCWUD is one of the few utilities in the nation to receive AAA bond ratings from Standard & Poor's, Moody's and Fitch's rating services. PBCWUD was the first utility in North America to achieve the international ISO 55001 standard certification in Asset Management.

Improving Service to Customers
To inform customers about the quality of their drinking water, each year PBCWUD publishes its Water Quality Report. The report provides detailed information about the extensive quality testing performed to ensure safety, reliability and quality.
The utility has also invested in advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) which sends usage data in real time, providing more accuracy in billing and certainty for customers. AMI also allows customers to view their usage, understand their habits and detect potential leaks in household fixtures sooner, saving time and money.
Improving the Environment
Wakodahatchee Wetlands
Wakodahatchee Wetlands are 50 acres of constructed wetlands on former utility property used to recycle water from the Southern Region Water Reclamation Facility. It's one of the innovative components in PBCWUD's water reclamation program.
The public has also "flocked" to Wakodahatchee; it has become one of the most popular bird watching and photography spots in the County. A 3/4-mile long elevated boardwalk allows visitors to enjoy the wetlands, wildlife and scenic vistas. Learn more and plan your visit: info page.
Green Cay Wetlands and Nature Center
Green Cay Wetlands consists of 100 acres of constructed wetlands also used to recycle water from the Southern Region Water Reclamation Facility. Built upon the success of Wakodahatchee, Green Cay features a 1.5 mile levated boardwalk and nature center, which is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation Department. To learn more about the Nature Center's opening hours, programs and other events, visit the Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation website.
In addition to returning water to the water cycle, recharging the quifer, both wetlands provide wildlife habitat that has attracted more than 170 different species of birds as well as alligators, rabbits, turtles, otters, foxes, bobcats and other creatures found in a healthy South Florida wetland ecosystem.
