Lifeguard Blended Learning Certification Course
Health Benefits: Lifeguard Certification Courses can lead to employment and physical activity promoting cardiovascular and strength based health. For the individual, certification can provide lifelong skills.
Lifeguard Certification Course – Blended Learning
Cost: FREE
Pretest: September 12, 2026 at 2:00 PM
Class Sessions: September 19, 20 and 21, 2026 from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Must attend all class dates.
The pretest must be completed in order to participate in the class.
Pretest Requirements
Participants must:
• Be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.
• Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest:
o Jump into the water and totally submerge.
o Resurface and swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both. Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Goggles are allowed.
o Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs, floating or a combination of both.
o Swim an additional 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both.
• Complete a timed event within 1 minute and 40 seconds.
