QR Zones of Green Cay Wetlands Boardwalk
The constructed wetlands at Green Cay cover approximately 100 acres, with a mile and a half of elevated boardwalk that takes visitors through a variety of wetland habitats. Green Cay is a collaborative project of the
Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department and the
Water Utilities Department. The water that hydrates the Green Cay Wetlands flows through the ponds in a path designed to maximize its contact with plants that absorb nitrogen and phosphorus. Before the water enters the wetlands, it is first treated at the Southern Region Water Reclamation Facility. The elevated boardwalk has been divided into the nine zones listed below.
