The mission of the Summer Camp program is to offer a quality, safe, inclusive, and affordable summer experience for Palm Beach County families. We provide lasting memories, imaginative play, and exposure to lifelong leisure activities that encourage campers to develop to their full potential. We offer a simple and equitable registration process, information about daily camp activities, and family-friendly customer service through available and well-trained staff.

The Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department is an equal opportunity agency and will neither exclude nor discriminate with regard to services, programs, and activities regardless of race, color, religion, disability, sex, age, national origin, ancestry, marital status, familial status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.

Benefits of Summer Camp

Physical Health: Learning to incorporate exercise in campers’ daily life will put them on the path to a healthy lifestyle.

Mental Stimulation: Kids who have no regular enrichment over summer break can lose skills in math, reading (known as the “summer slide”).  Camps help prevent this from happening by providing activities like STEM and art programming.

Social Skills: Improve social skills through teamwork and communication; build friendships and improve the ability to work collaboratively.

Personal Growth: Participants can build resilience, self-reliance, and program-solving skills, contributing to personal growth.

Building Friendships: Summer camp is great for your child’s social development.  It teaches campers how to get along with different types of people, enables them to be themselves outside of their traditional environment and helps them interact with children who may have similar interests.

New Experiences: Many children may not have the opportunity to try some of the activities offered in camp.  They may find a particular interest or skill that they may have otherwise not found.  Having the opportunity to do new things is perfect for self-development.
