Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program.
Activities promote environmental and historical awareness, conservation, and recreation.
Benefits of attending a program at Riverbend Park • Environmental Awareness: Exposure to nature fosters a greater appreciation for the environment. • Mental Health: Nature-based activities have been shown to improve mental health by reducing stress and boosting self-esteem. • Creativity and Imagination: Being in nature stimulates creativity and imagination. • Physical Health: Engaging in outdoor activities improves physical health. • Skill Development: Participants learn new skills and improve existing ones, enhancing their overall competence and confidence.
NOTICE: Effective October 1, 2025, all payments made with a credit or debit card (online or in-person) will incur a 3.0% service fee. This fee is assessed and collected by the credit card processor, NOT by Palm Beach County. No service fee will be assessed on payments made by check or cash.

MONTHLYNATURALIST WALKSWednesdays, 8:00 a.m. All ages, FREE (Reservations required) Join naturalists each week for a 1-hour guided walk exploring the trails of Riverbend Park. It’s a great way to become familiar with the plant and animal communities and trails of the park. Call 561-741-1359 to reserve a spot.
REPTILE ENCOUNTERS Wednesdays, 2:30 p.m. All ages, FREE (Reservations not required) Join naturalists each week for a short meet & greet with one of our resident reptile ambassadors.
BATTLEFIELD TOURS Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. (October – May) All ages, FREE (Reservations not required) Join a Loxahatchee Battlefield Preservationist docent on a battlefield tour and learn of the Second Seminole War battles that occurred here.
JULYARCHERY 101Saturday, July 12, 9:30 a.m. Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required) Join USA Archery certified staff to learn a new skill! This exciting program teaches archery safety and how to properly use the equipment before getting to practice on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.
OPEN RANGE ARCHERY Tuesday, July 15, 4:00 p.m. Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required) This program is offered to participants who have already attended a basic archery course at Riverbend Park.
Join USA Archery certified staff to hone your archery skills! Participants will shoot at different targets and a basic safety review will be conducted before heading to the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children. Call 561-741-1359 to reserve a spot.
RIVERBEND PARK VISITS THE LIBRARY: FLORIDA’S SLITHERING SECRETS Acreage Branch Library: Thursday, July 17, 3:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. Jupiter Branch Library: Thursday, July 24, 3:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. All ages, FREE (Reservations required) Celebrate World Snake Day with Riverbend Park and their snake ambassadors! Get up close with four fascinating species, explore their vital roles in ecosystems, and learn about their behaviors and habitats. MOTH NIGHT HIKE Friday, July 18, 7:30 p.m. Ages 8+, $5/participant (Reservations required) Step into the hidden world of nocturnal insects on this guided evening hike. As twilight fades, we’ll explore quiet trails and use light traps to attract a dazzling variety of moths. Learn about their unique behaviors, fascinating adaptations, and the vital roles they play in our ecosystems—all beneath the stars. Good walking shoes, water, a flashlight, and bug spray are recommended.
WETLAND DIPNETTING Saturday, July 19, 9:30 a.m. Ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required) Join a naturalist to learn about the different types of wetlands and how they are important to both animals and humans. Participants will also discover the underwater world by dipnetting for aquatic organisms to study and release. Please wear closed-toe shoes that can get wet/muddy.
CANOEING 101 Saturday, July 26, 9:30 a.m. Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required) Join ACA certified staff to learn proper canoeing terminology, skills and safety through a unique outdoor adventure program. Participants will put their new skills to the test in a short canoeing trip through the park. Proper outdoor clothing, water shoes, drinking water, and sunscreen are recommended. Canoes, paddles, and PFD's are provided.

Get up close with four incredible species, uncover their unique behaviors and habitats, and learn why these cold-blooded creatures are essential to our local ecosystems. BAT NIGHT HIKE Friday, August 22, 7:30 p.m. Ages 8+, $5/participant (Reservations required) Join a naturalist on a walk and observe the change from diurnal to nocturnal in the park. In celebration of international bat night, we will dive into the fascinating world of bats and their importance to our state. Good walking shoes, water, a flashlight, and bug spray are recommended.
FISHING FUN Saturday, August 23, 9:30 a.m. Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required) Learn basic fishing techniques and safety while fishing for the big one! Proper outdoor clothing, water, sunblock and sunglasses are recommended. Fishing gear is provided.
