White-tailed Deer! They may be spotted on the Wildlife Trail at the Deer Enclosure overlook
Atala Butterflies! These small butterflies were once endangered, now they roam the butterfly garden in high populations feeding on the coontie plant
Painted Buntings! These beautiful birds are frequent visitors of the bird feeder behind the nature center from late fall to early spring
Gopher Tortoises! Grazing tortoises are a common sight on many of the trails. Keep an eye out for their burrows, and be sure not to approach or disturb this protected species.
Wood Ducks! This mascot of the nature center nests during the winter/spring months in the boxes found in any of the pond and marsh areas
